I have a confession to make. I am addicted to Amazon. You too?! If I never stepped foot into a real store again, I might be okay with it. There are no long lines, they have every product I could ever need, and I usually don’t buy much more than I came for. (Thanks, Target! I can’t leave that store without spending at least $100!) Through the last decade or so of doing 80% of my shopping on Amazon, I’ve uncovered some little tricks that are total money savers, and I’m sharing every one of them with you. Whether you’re an Amazon newbie or a seasoned pro, these Amazon hacks are going to save you lots and lots of money!

Amazon Hack #1: Make Sure to Check Out Other Sellers
For the longest time, I’d search for an item, and as long as it was Prime and appeared within the first few listings, I bought it. No price comparing, no looking around, and no searching for the best deal. Basically, I was relying on Amazon to put their best deal right in front of my face. Boy was I wrong! This soccer play set is listed at one price, but check out that fine print! This exact item is sold from another seller for more than $10 less! In some cases, the products are already opened, not in original packaging, or simply have damaged packaging, but unless you are that picky, most of that doesn’t matter! This is one of those Amazon hacks that has the potential to save you lots of money!
Amazon Hack #2: Track Amazon Prices with CamelCamelCamel
This one is a favorite for my husband, and I’ve used it quite a few times too. Since prices fluctuate so much on Amazon, you might never know if the listed price is indeed a good deal. To track pricing on products, just copy and paste the URL of the Amazon product into the search bar on CamelCamelCamel. It will then show you the price history for that item. If it’s a product you don’t need right away or maybe a product that you use often, you can set up an alert for when the price drops to your target price.
Amazon Hack #3: Keep Items In Your Cart
Often, I log into Amazon to see a few notifications letting me know that prices have increased or dropped for items in my cart. When shopping, I’ll add an item I may want to purchase in the future in my cart. When the price drops, there’s a little friendly reminder when I log in letting me know that now is an excellent time to buy. This is a no-brainer when it comes to Amazon hacks!
Amazon Hack #4: Shop Amazon’s Warehouse Deals
Check out Amazon’s Warehouse for discounted items that may have been returned, refurbished, or will arrive in a damaged box. A lot of the products are still Prime eligible and even qualify for the same return policy. If you’re okay with saving money on a refurbished item or open box item, take advantage of the bargains Amazon Warehouse offers! One time I scored a HUGE box of diapers at more than 50% off because the box was damaged.
Amazon Hack #5: Shop Through Ebates
If you’re a professional online money saver, you’ve probably heard of Ebates. When you shop through Ebates, they give you cash back on your purchases. Many online retailers, including Amazon, will provide you with anywhere from 3% to 8% cash back depending on what you buy. As if Amazon shopping couldn’t get any better! If you haven’t signed up for Ebates yet, sign up here, and you’ll even score a $10 gift card. So, you’ll make $10 and get cash back on your Amazon purchase. One of the best Amazon hacks yet!
Amazon Hack #6: Take Advantage of the Subscribe and Save Option
There are thousands of Amazon items that are offered at lower prices (generally 15% less) when you choose to Subscribe & Save? But, did you know that you can cancel your subscription right away? You don’t even have to wait until the item ships! To cancel a subscription, just go to your Subscribe & Save Item settings located under your Account & Lists and select which subscription you’d like to cancel. Easy peasy!
Amazon Hack #7: Amazon Prime Trial
If you’re new to Amazon (you’ve been missing out, my friend!) or maybe just want to try out Amazon Prime to get some items super fast, you can sign up for a 30-day, free trial of Amazon Prime right here! You can take advantage of all of the Prime freebies for 30 days and then cancel when your trial runs out. If you forget to cancel, Amazon will pro-rate your subscription and refund you for the entire portion of the subscription you have not used.
Amazon Hack #8: Earn Rebates on Amazon Purchases
ibotta is another new way to earn cash while you shop online. Their app works for both in-store purchases and online purchases like the ones you make from Amazon all the time! If you sign up for Amazon Prime (I highly recommend this if you’re an Amazon addict like myself) through ibotta, you’ll earn a $20 Amazon gift card. And, right now if you download ibotta, you’ll also get a $10 cash-back bonus!
Amazon Hack #9: Share Amazon Prime With Your Family
I love that Amazon now lets you share your Prime account with up to four family members! This makes the Prime membership so much more affordable. I currently have my husband, myself, my sister and my mom all on one account. We all chip in 25 dollars and enjoy Prime for a year! If you purchase more than a few items from Amazon in a year, this is well worth it, as you will most likely pay more for shipping than your split membership will cost you. This is by far, one of my favorite Amazon hacks.
Amazon Hack #10: Opt for No Rush Shipping
If you’re not in a rush to get your items (I’ll admit it, most of the time I wait until the last minute to buy a gift or get a refill on my favorite hairspray!) you can opt for the free no rush shipping. By selecting this, you can get account credits or sometimes, an immediate discount! If you choose this shipping option all the time, your rewards would add up, and you could probably get some free products!
Amazon Hack #11: Get Add-On Items Without Spending $25
A few years back, Amazon started offering Add-On items, which are primarily items that Amazon will lose money on if they have to ship them separately. To purchase an Add-On item, you have to spend at least $25 on products. Well, that is no longer the case with this Amazon hack! You can add pre-order items to your cart to reach the $25 minimum. Since Amazon doesn’t charge you until your item is shipped, you can always change your mind and cancel those items after you receive your package of add-ons.
I hope these Amazon hacks help you save a little bit of money in the future! Do you have any Amazon hacks that have helped you save money? Share them in the comments!
