I’ve always known that I wanted more than one child. What I didn’t know about, was that bittersweet feeling that I was going to have once I saw those double lines on the pregnancy test. It was the real deal, all over again and things were about to change real fast. Our little family of three that I loved so much was going to grow by one, making us a family of four.
As I sat there in the bathroom trying to envision my then two and a half-year-old being a big sister, I couldn’t help but feel the happy, sad and a plethora of other feelings in that moment. Her world as she knew it was going to be flipped. For the better, of course, but she wouldn’t be able to understand that just yet. I had to start preparing her for big sisterhood. What better way than with books? Here are 20 easy to understand books about a new baby that will help prepare your child for becoming an older sibling.
