You’re Pregnant? It’s Time to Track That Growing Belly!

So, you’re pregnant! Get ready to embrace the only time in your life where your growing belly is a magical miracle! It’s so magical that you’ll most likely want to take pictures of it week after week, no matter how tired you are becoming. Growing a human is hard work and it’s definitely worth celebrating and remembering! I tracked my pregnant belly with both of my pregnancies and I still enjoy looking back at the pictures. Ah, the glories of pregnancy! Take a look at the unique techniques these mamas used to document pregnancy:

Wear the Same Outfit

Whether you choose a snug fitting white dress or a red tee shirt, wearing the same outfit and taking weekly or monthly pictures of your growing belly is elegant and timeless. You can really tell how bigger your belly is getting with this technique! Wearing a super cute little tee like this one would make for some great belly bumpin’ photos!

Use a Chalkboard

This was my inspiration for tracking my pregnant belly’s growth when I was pregnant with R in 2012. Chalkboard art was just coming around back then and it’s still popular today. This idea takes a bit of prep work but if you are into drawing and hand lettering it would be a blast! I found it easier to use these chalk markers rather than dusty white chalk (that was such a mess!)

Put a Sticker on It!

These are the most creative way to document your baby’s growth throughout your pregnancy! The stickers can be kept after each picture in a memory book or scrapbook for keepsakes. These also make a sweet gift for expectant moms. Download my free set off printable belly stickers and start tracking that belly! All you will need to make these stickers at home are these full sticker sheets and a nice printer.

Involve a Sibling

What better way to get the older sibling excited about the new addition than including them in your belly photos? It’s so cute to see the different expressions a child has when put in the spotlight next to a growing bump! Pictures would be really cute with this chalkboard.

Keep it Simple

This gal kept it super simple – meaning no prep work involved! I love this idea because you can take photos on the fly. Life is busy, and believe it or not, you actually have to make a point to take monthly or weekly snapshots of your growing belly.

Wear All Black. http://www.laura-and.co/pregnancy-chalkboard-tracker/
And not just because it’s slimming! Wearing all black will give you a timeless look that you can look back on forever. It’s also best to wear all black if you are planning on turning your photos black and white. Wearing black also keeps all eyes on that lovely belly you’re sporting!

Wear a Cute Tee

Want to snap some adorable baby bump memories and be comfy while you’re doing it? Grab this cute tee shirt and document that bump! (You should totally make that face, too!)

Shoot from Above

I’ve never seen this one before, but I love this idea! I like that this mama captured real life in all of her pictures. Doing a cute pose with a sign is one thing, but day-to-day with a bump is another! I’m doing this with my next pregnancy for sure! I love that her child is in the pics as well.

Add Some Graphics and Text

This is so much fun! Add a little flair to each photo with a Photoshop, or if you don’t have access to that, try Canva! You can add whatever text you like – how big is baby? How are you feeling? What are you craving? The possibilities are endless with this pregnancy photo concept.

A Simple Banner

This is a super cute and simple way to document a growing belly! All you have to is switch out the number and you are good to go! You could also switch out the color of the cute little pom-poms to go with the season or holiday, like red and green poms for Christmas, and green and yellow when spring rolls around.
